Press Release
The new highly integrated HDTV processor, SiS365, to address the need of larger computing power and graphic rendering for the Internet application, integrates 800MHz 32 bit microprocessor, 32 bit DDRII-800 memory subsystem, and 226MHz OpenGL ES 1.1 compliance graphic engine. Besides, to ensure rich compatibility for playing online video streaming, or flash-based media playing, the SiS 365 iTV processor integrates a 226MHz Universal Video Decoding Engine (UVDE) capable of parsing the MPEGII, H.264, MPEG4(Xvid), RMVB, and VC1/WMV9 complaint streams. To support the audio counter-part of these standards, the SiS365 also integrates a Universal Audio Decoding Engine (UADE) capable of parsing the AAC-LC/HE-AAC/MPEG2-AAC, MPEG1 L1/L2/L3(MP3), AC3/EAC3, and PCM/ADPCM complaint streams. To ensure the picturesque display of these decoded video streams, they are further processed by the integrated 7th generation Digital Native Video Engine (DNVETM) technology mainly featuring Content Detected 3D noise reduction, Motion adaptive De-interlacing, and frame-based dynamic contrast enhancement, etc.
“The future of the consumer electronics industry is towards the universal/scalable internet video devices to ensure higher interoperability and consistent user experience. With the advent of SiS365 iTV, SiS has made its first step towards this tremendous vision”, said Michael Chen, President of SiS. “SiS is very committed to continuing enhancing the performance and user experience of internet video TV with various customized widgets that will allow users and system vendors to enjoy the best quality at a reasonable price.”
Engineering samples for the SiS 365 iTV processor family is now being supplied to manufacturers for design, testing and verification. Volume production is expected to commence in the third quarter of this year.
